VE Day Celebration

The Village Hall had planned to host a VE Day celebration for the village on Friday 8th May (the official Bank Holiday).

Bring out your drinks and cakes and toast the nation to celebrate 75 years since the war in Europe ended.  Bring music and laughter to join a socially distanced celebration!

At 3pm a toast can be said as suggested by the VE Day organisation  “To those who gave so much, we thank you,”

Linked are the prayer and town crier poem which would have been used at the event.  Please feel free to use them at your own event.  It would be great to hear them read out across their garden walls and fences.

BBC Local Radio are supporting the initiative in making your own VE Day Great British Bunting.
